The aim of the module is to equip students with minimum basic mathematical skills to help them to pursue undergraduate degree in Business area. Students will be able to understand fundamental concepts used in Business Statistics, financial management and other modules as they progress further through future studies.

The module will cover the purpose of accounting and some of the concepts that underlie the accounting process. Candidates will be introduced to the main financial statements and the principles of accounts preparation. The module will also cover the different types of business entity and also consider the users which are likely to be interested in a business entity’s financial statements and the type of information that they will require from those financial statements.

This module emphasises the understanding and applications of Management and the integrative role that Marketing plays in all organisations. Among the concepts covered are The Evolution of Management Thinking, Marketing Management Theories, Consumer Behaviour, Market Segmentation and Targeting, Market Research, Marketing Strategies, Corporate Culture and the Environment, Managing in a Global Environment, Ethics and Social Responsibility.
