The Module will create awareness of the use of database at workplace. It introduces the basic database functions. To enable learners’ applications and enable learners to perform simple database enables learners to enter data from end user mode.

This module provides the students with basic Life
Skills to be effective workers and useful members of the community. This is
achieve through developing Personal, Interpersonal, and basic Workplace Skills
in learners.
Modules Aims and Objectives
Section 1: Basic Enterprise Skills
1) To create awareness and generate interests in self-employment.
2) To provide basic information for business start-ups.
3) To develop the basic principles and processes involved in managing a business enterprise.
4) To develop entrepreneurial aptitudes and capabilities
Section 2: Applied Numeracy
1) To build on the mathematical skills consistent with the required level at work.
2) To develop the ability to apply mathematics to solve work related problems.
Section 3: Communication in English
1) To develop the communication skills of students enabling them to communicate more confidently and effectively in the workplace.
2) To focus on technical and semi-technical vocabulary thus enabling learners to become familiar with and practice using the specialist language they need for work.
3) To develop sound skills/habit of studying and self-organization and to encourage further independent personal development.
4) To develop learner’s ability to organize and articulate ideas and information.

This module provides the students a common level of understanding of the Health, Safety and Environment policies and rules, develop a culture of safe working habits in all areas of activity through the understanding and compliance with established standards, procedures and guidelines and also develop the student competence and influence responsibility in keeping and maintaining safe and health working environment within Telecommunication and Information Technology industry.

Learners will familiarize with the various
commonly used application software at workplace. They will develop skills and
gain experience in using the commonly used application software, will
appreciate the functions and purposes of the computer productivity tools and realize
the scope, influence and potential of computers in the office they will work.
