This module introduces and teaches students about networks and transmission principles. The course covers local area networks (LANs), wide-area networks (WANs), hierarchical WANs, and LAN components. System network architecture (SNA), and TCP/IP, data protocols, DTE to DCE interface standards, and transmission methods and error checking are also covered. This course will also focus on imparting knowledge about the practical aspects of data communication and computer network systems with the required basic principles behind them with some practical assignments.
